Introduction:

The Fulbright Foreign Student Program is a U.S. Government-funded scholarship program that enables international students, young professionals, and artists from more than 160 countries to pursue graduate study or research in the United States. Around 4,000 foreign students receive Fulbright scholarships each year.

Benefits:

The scholarship generally covers tuition fees, required textbooks, airfare, living stipend, health insurance, and other approved study-related expenses. For Pakistani applicants, the USEFP program also covers visa fees, a computer allowance, and a settling-in allowance.

Eligibility criteria:

For Pakistan's Fulbright Master's program, applicants generally need a four-year Bachelor's degree or a Bachelor's plus Master's combination totaling 16 years of education. PhD applicants need a Master's, MPhil, or comparable qualification representing at least 18 years of education. Applicants must be Pakistani citizens residing in Pakistan, have strong academic backgrounds, and be committed to returning to Pakistan after their studies. All academic fields are eligible except clinical medicine. A GRE General test is required, with a minimum of 145 in each section under the current scoring system, and selected candidates must demonstrate strong English proficiency.

Documents required:

The application normally requires the completed online application form, three reference letters, GRE score report, academic transcripts, and relevant degree/education information. HEC-attested documents are preferred, although documents attested by the issuing institution can be accepted at the application stage.
